Have you ever noticed the animal on the giant mats at the gym/cafeteria entrance doors? The William E Sheehan School used to have a mascot, a Griffin. A Griffin is a mythical creature with the body, tail, and hind legs of a lion, combined with the head, wings, and talons of an eagle, symbolizing power, courage, and wisdom. And we will be bringing it back! Keep an eye out for a school store later this spring with items rockin our mascot and other Sheehan logos!

The Kristen Evans Scholarship Fund was created to honor the lasting impact Mrs. Evans has had on the Sheehan community—not just as a principal, but as a mentor, advocate, and steady presence in the lives of countless students and families. For years, Mrs. Evans led with heart, integrity, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential. She didn’t just shape a school; she shaped a culture rooted in kindness, inclusion, and pride.
This scholarship is a reflection of the values Mrs. Evans championed every day at Sheehan: Respect and Not Neglect, Voice the Right Choice, Listen, Learn, Try, Ask Why, and School Wide Pride. Through this fund, we hope to carry her legacy forward by supporting a former Sheehan student who exemplifies these core values and is ready to take the next step in their educational journey.
By investing in our students, we honor Mrs. Evans's belief that education is about more than academics—it’s about character, compassion, and community. This scholarship ensures that her influence will continue to be felt for years to come, empowering students to lead with the same heart and purpose she modeled so beautifully.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated to the get the fund jump started.
For more information, please visit this website below which explains the criteria for the scholarship and how the existing Sheehan community will play a major part in awarding the scholarship.

The SEPAC Meeting will take place both in-person at the Westwood Library in the First Floor Community Room, as well as via Zoom.
The purpose of the meeting is to conduct SEPAC business and connect with other Westwood parents around topics related to raising a child with unique educational needs.
We are in need of parent volunteers for the library and lunchroom. This is a great opportunity to see your child(ren) and watch them interact with their classmates. Plus -- you can select the date and time that works best for YOUR schedule. Use the sign up genius links below to sign up for both lunchroom and library volunteer duties!
Don't forget: You MUST complete a CORI form before volunteering for lunchroom or library duty. Complete this CORI form and email it to eerwin@westwood.k12.ma.us with a copy of your driver’s license.
